    All TransACT Phone plans comes with these features

    Call Forward

    Transfer calls from your home phone to a number you choose, with custom settings according to whether your phone is busy or unattended. Standard call charges apply for forwarded calls.

    Call Return (*10#)

    Access your last unanswered call. For just 35c, you can retrieve the caller's number (unless the number is blocked), and simply press 1 to dial. Standard call charge will apply.

    Call Waiting

    If you're already on the phone, Call Waiting lets you know when someone else is trying to get through. You can place your conversation on hold to answer the second incoming call.

    3-Way Chat

    Chat with two people at once, with callers able to leave and join at any time. You can even place one person on hold, allowing you to speak privately with the other.

    Call Back

    If the number you're calling is engaged, this feature can automatically call you when that number is free. It will keep trying for up to 45 minutes and, provided you have a compatible phone, alert you with a distinctive ring when you're able to get through. Call Back costs 35c per successful use; standard call charges apply.

    Identify callers without having to pick up the phone. Provided the caller has an unblocked number, their ID will be shown on any compatible telephone. This feature also stores the date and time of call for easy reference.

    Silent Number

    Voice Mail

    How do I apply for a Phone plan with TransACT?

    When you purchase a broadband product you will be able to bundle with our phone services - Phone 1 or Phone 2. If you're not sure whether or not you want to bundle with phone when you sign up for broadband, you can go to the Toolbox at any time to add either of the Phone products to your service and save!

    After application, your line rental, local calls, national calls, calls to mobile and international calls will be automatically transferred to TransACT.

    Can I have TransACT's phone service without an TransACT broadband service?

    You must have one of our latest broadband plans to take up our Phone services. It's our goal to provide reliable, fast and good value communications services - bundling services lets us do this.

    Will I need to call my current provider to make the switch to TransACT?

    By and large, the changes to your line will be handled completely by TransACT. However, if you have any of TransACT incompatible services you will need to contact your current phone provider before joining TransACT to remove those services from your line. See the topic below for a list of incompatible services.

    Is my line compatible with TransACT phone service?

    While we offer a number of optional services for our Phone plans, we are unable to offer a full range of additional phone services. If you have the following services on your line, please contact your current phone provider and ask to have these services removed from your line before signing up for our phone service. This will avoid any delay in your application if we have to remove these services for you.

    How long does it take for the service to become active from Application?

    Please allow approximately 10-15 working days for your phone and broadband application to be processed. The local call component will become active in 7-12 days, and the preselect or timed calls portion (long distance, calls to mobiles and international calls) will become active an additional 3 days later.

    Premium service charges

    TransACT does not provide premium services or add additional charges for use. Premium service charges that appear on your bill are passed on from the third-party provider.

    Charges are calculated in a number of ways:

    • Flat rate - where you are charged a fixed amount for each call
    • Timed rate - where charges are increased based on time spent connected
    • Calls from mobile phones - remember that additional mobile fees may apply
    • By data volume - where you are charged according to data sent and received

    You are responsible for the cost of all calls made from your phone, except in situations where:

    • charges result from a fault or billing error
    • there was insufficient or no warning that premium charges would apply
    • the service did not comply with applicable industry code
    • charges arose due to fraud (eg. if your phone was unlawfully used)

    You retain the right to dispute premium call charges. In some cases, your liability to pay may only apply after an investigation by the relevant providers and/or the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman.

    Contact us any time to discuss your concerns about premium services. If we are unable to resolve your complaint with you, we will pass you onto the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO).
