TransACT Capitals
The TransACT Capitals are one of Canberra's most successful sporting teams competing in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) from October to February each year. The Caps have enjoyed WNBL Championship wins in 99/00, 2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2005/2006 & 2006/07.
The Capitals team boasts an impressive line up including international and Olympic star Tully Bevilaqua, Kellie Abrams, Natty Hurst, Abby Bishop, Jess Bibby and Tracey Beatty and the team is lead by one of Australia’s most successful coaches, Carrie Graf.
TransACT first sponsored the Capitals in 2000, when the new company was looking for a community partner which, like TransACT, was innovative, world class, exciting and truly local. The exciting partnership has flourished since and is now one of Canberra’s most recognised and successful commercial sponsorships.

Tropfest
Tropfest is regarded as the most influential and popular short film festival in Australia and is broadcast live each year from the primary site Sydney to hosting sites Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart and Perth.
For the first time in 2007, Tropfest was also screened live to eight regional sites, including Port Augusta, Yarram, Katherine, Devonport, Albany, Hervey Bay, Wagga Wagga and Singleton.
Tropfest entrants are required to submit a short film, no longer than seven minutes in length and containing the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI). A selection of films is screened at Tropfest, with a range of awards judged at the event.
TransACT has partnered with the National Capital Authority to deliver the Canberra screening of Tropfest since 2003. The festival is staged in Commonwealth Park and in 2007 attracted an audience of over 17,000 people to watch, enjoy and critique sixteen short film finalists.
