Services that we provide include state-of-the-art broadband, fixed line telephony services, mobile phone solutions, Subscription TV, Video on Demand, ISP services and data centre services.
We are a strong partner of local communities and businesses, proudly supporting more than 50 community organisations in the ACT and regional Victoria.
In the ACT, we have a unique partnership with local multi-utility provider ActewAGL. Through this arrangement, customers can bundle TransACT services with ActewAGL’s electricity, gas and green energy services to deliver savings unmatched by other telecommunications providers.
History of TransACT
TransACT was established in 2000 as a fully integrated telecommunications and subscription TV operator. Since this time, we have been the first to roll out FTTP, deploy hybrid fibre-cable (HFC) in regional areas, offer Video on Demand, introduce Ethernet over cable and launch IPTV.
Our operations in Victoria began in 2008 when TransACT purchased Neighbourhood Cable. In 2011, Neighbourhood Cable was renamed to TransACT to reflect the complete range of telecommunications services provided to TransACT customers.
TransACT has a strong local presence in the areas in which it operates and we were recently appointed to a series of whole-of-government procurement panels including the Telecommunications Commodities, Carriage and Associated Services Panel and the Panel for Data Centre Facilities, both managed by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO).
In Victoria we recently rolled-out the region’s fastest broadband service, DOCSIS 3, capable of delivering super-fast speeds up to 100Mbps.
TransACT is a privately owned company which was acquired on 30 November 2011 by iiNet, Australia’s second largest DSL Internet Service Provider (ISP). Find out more about iiNet.
